ISSEI Mochi Gummies are chewy candies inspired by the ancient Japanese tradition of mochi treats. As the Graphic Design Lead, I have designed compelling visual content for various marketing materials including packaging, advertisements, social media posts, website graphics and promotional materials.
In my first year with the company, I collaborated with Issei's CEO to design rebranded packaging to incorporate color into our minimalist aesthetic. The goal was to capture the essence of fruit without resorting to literal imagery, and to balance the playfulness of candy with the sophistication of art. The rebrand brought this vision to life through bold, saturated colors that embody each flavor. Some hues speak intuitively to fruit, while others are paired with abstract, organic shapes – seeds, leaves and soft fruit textures – that evoke nature in a modern way. A larger, gleaming gold-foil logo now anchors the design, ensuring the brand name shines as brightly as the product itself.
