It's a crazy time we are living in right now with COVID-19. One of the positive things about social distancing is all the extra time we have for crafts with the family. This weekend, we decorated eggs for our neighborhood "Easter Egg Hunt". (Even my husband got into it! He must be really bored. LOL!) I bet you can guess which egg is mine!

In honor of my 10 year wedding anniversary, I thought I would post this fun craft I made for our reception. Since my husband and I got married in Vegas, I created this slot machine wedding card collection box out of cardboard, themed stickers, and wooden dowel and ball.
My daughter loves pizza and her second grade teacher does too! So I thought this was the perfect door design. I kept it pretty simple because I had limited time to get this one done. My printer even died half way through the project and I almost took to hand lettering but my neighbor saved the day which saved me a ton of time! Hope you LOVE it!
The new school year is here and I'm back at my favorite hobby! This year's Halloween door for the kindergarten classroom uses a play on words and a cute spider theme. Who doesn't love fuzzy pipe cleaners and big googly eyes?
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and my daughter's school decorated the whole school with a sweet candy theme. So to show my appreciation for the hard-working teacher and aides in our classroom, I came up with a deliciously, colorful gumball themed door. I had a ball making this one! In addition to the door, I came up with these crafty teacher gifts that the children helped me make. To go along with the candy themed week, I bought the sweetest smelling candles I could find. Then I had the whole class participate in fingerpainting these candle wraps and I packaged them up into fun little candies. The children loved seeing their artwork come together and the teachers loved their gifts!
Could this door get any sweeter? This time I didn't hand draw the Sweethearts logo but I sure did have to cut out a lot of hearts! To save on money, I simply painted the brown backdrop paper in red and pink. Painting surely didn't save on time and I used up all my kids' craft paint in the process. Well, guess I know what I'll be getting the kids for Valentine's Day!
After creating a well-received craft flower gift for our Girl Scout troop leaders, I decided to use a similar idea for teacher Christmas gifts. So for my daughter's preschool, I had each child decorate a snowflake and include a photo of themselves. I put it all together in beautiful wire baskets that could later be reused for other purposes. The snowflakes were all strung to a ribbon-wrapped halo which could be easily removed and hung up for decoration.
I went all out on this door decor; from hand drawing the snow-themed font to cutting out the penguin shapes. I had extra white fleece fabric that I had bought for a craft project years ago and never used. I knew I wanted to use it to create a winter wonderland. I had snow much fun making this one!
Here's another classroom door that I decorated for Thanksgiving. I kept this one pretty simple and let the photos of the beautiful children act as the centerpiece to the whole design. The teacher was also so pleased that I had incorporated her classroom motto into the design!
As a room parent volunteer for my child's classroom, I have discovered a completely new art form that allows me to have fun and be creative. Teachers often request to have their classroom doors decorated for special holidays or events. It's rare that I take the time to get crafty these days so I had a lot of fun creating this.
